10K Run
The newest addition to our family.

You asked. We listened.

The answer to “What if the 5K is not enough but the Half Marathon is too much?” is the brand-spanking new Salt Lake City Marathon 10k Run. What better way to commemorate our 15th anniversary than to add a new way to experience race day!

Participants will utilize a portion of the half marathon course, starting near 500 S and 900 E, and will run through the Sugar House and downtown areas. Our fastest course – the route is relatively flat and smooth with slight grade variation.

On-Course Information

Water will be available at the event start and finish lines, with five water stations about every mile along the course. Representatives from the event’s medical and communication team will be stationed along the course to observe participants and assist with any medical injuries or emergencies.

Course markings
We have made an effort to mark potential course hazards (such as manhole covers, divots in pavement, pot holes, etc.) along the course in bright orange fluorescent paint. Please be aware that on race day there may be additional obstacles that could be potentially hazardous.. Please skate within your ability and be aware of the course, potential autos pulling in/out of the course and changes in terrain.

Runners with strollers are asked to please keep to the right throughout the course as a courtesy to other participants who will be merging into the course. If you are still on the course and the police escort for the runners comes upon you, please move to the far right to allow the lead runners through. Continue along the right until you have reached the finish line chute. Please observe the time and be aware that half marathon runners could catch up to you on the course.

Please note: Children on the course in strollers must wear helmets.

Skaters will be taking off in front of runners. Please line up behind skaters prior to the start of the race.

Portable toilets
Portable toilets will be available at the start point and finish areas in addition to those at each course water station. Please DO NOT relieve yourself on either private or public property along the course.

Gear Check

There will be a gear bag drop-off area near the start line and a bag pickup area near the finish line. Since the start and finish lines are located in two different areas, bags will be transported to the finish area so athletes can have their bags available after finishing. Place any items you want at the finish line in a bag, and leave with the Gear Check volunteers. Mark it clearly with you name and bib number.

Please DO NOT leave valuables in your bag, as we cannot be responsible for the contents of your bag. DO NOT leave your bag around the start or finish areas outside the official bag drop area. Bags left outside and unattended may be confiscated due to Homeland Security requirements.
