Finish Line Training

Get the training, support and expert advice you’ll need to run the 2018 Alaska Airlines Salt Lake City Marathon and Half Marathon. Join Life Time Run coaches Jessica Perry and Sylvia Bedford in a 16-week (marathon) or 12-week (half marathon) program to kick your training season off on the right foot.

The marathon program costs $26.20 and will begin on Saturday, January 2, 2018, while the half marathon program costs $13.10 and will begin on Saturday, January 20.

Runner’s Clinic at University of Utah Health Care

Helping you run injury free so you can run the Alaska Airlines Salt Lake City Marathon and Half Marathon. The Runner’s Clinic uses the latest technology including force plate treadmills, wireless EMG and slow motion video capture to analyze your running mechanics, identify your optimal form for reducing running specific injuries and improve your running efficiency. Our clinicians practice evidence-based research to analyze individual runners and provide solutions for acute or chronic running injuries.

As part of the clinic, we offer the following services:

  • Detailed review of running history, training patterns and current injury
  • Assessment of back, hips, knees, ankles and feet
  • Slow motion video analysis of running mechanics in three planes
  • Force plate treadmill reports that assess how you impact the ground
  • Surface EMG testing to assess muscle activity while running and with exercises
  • Customized program for injury treatment and recovery
  • Gait retraining with real-time feedback options
  • Therapeutic exercises to address impairments
  • Shoe recommendations and orthotic fabrication/prescription
  • Training program modifications

Life Time Run

Whatever your distance or experience level, Life Time Run at Life Time Fitness South Jordan will help you prepare to cross the finish line. Please join us for one of the following training sessions:

Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
Meet in front of Life Time Fitness South Jordan (10996 S River Front Pkwy, South Jordan)
These runs are free and open to the community; you do not need to be a member. They are held on the Jordan Parkway Trail and are an out-and-back format. We break out into different groups for all levels and each group is lead by one of our Life Time Run leads.

Thursdays at 5:30 a.m.
Dawn Patrol at a variety of locations
These are cross-training sessions for runners that are held at a variety of locations and are free for members and non-members.
